pareho kami ni ms Cath na mahilig kumain, though gusto ko ring magluto, ang problema kapag ako ang nagluto... nauumay kaagad ako kaya nawawalan ako ng gana kumain... anyhow back to topic

about dieting here's my tips:
1. People normally skip 1 meal either lunch or dinner, this is good if you can maintain this but the backside is if you are eating more than what you should be eating though it's just 2 meals...at according to dietrician, this is not effective to all people kasi our body has an alarm system na kapag nadetect nya na you are getting hungry, it will activate a fail safe to use your fats in the body to survive. so, what happen is that when you eat, you are getting twice the fat you are getting kaya mas lalo kang tataba...
2. eat small or light meals but 5 times a day and drink a lot of water, to avoid hunger.
3. exercise daily, dieting is good but you will feel weaken if you don't exercise.
4. avoid sweet foods or junk foods if you can, and try eating healthy foods only when you diet to avoid unnecessary fats from those foods.
5. get a lot of rest by sleeping 7 to 8 hours.
6. drink 2 glasses of water before each meal.

workouts
1. consult a physician or doctor first para malaman mo kung ano ang bawal sa iyo... if you have heart illness, or something...better to be safe than sorry
2. before and after each work out, try stretching first to loosen your muscles at hindi siya mabigla..
3. jog first or used cardio machines first before lifting weights at less for 20 minutes and cool down 5 minutes
4. drink a lot of water to keep hydrated the last thing you don't want to happen is for you to collapse because of dehydration
5. start easy on workout and gradually increase what your are doing
6. monitor your weight if its maintain or decrease. if maintain, try to think what you are eating and try reducing it then support by increasing your workout.
7. have a goal (how much weight you want to loose and maintain)so you can push yourself to achieve, then each time you achieve it, try rewarding yourself...

that's all i can say... i always go to the gym whenever i can... a regular schedule is better so try doing it on a regular basis because it is more effective

Agree with sir imoy po..you need to know how much calories you need to consume a day and you can go to your dr.first den you start from there..but i know bunch of people who plan their own diet and some are success and some did not..its just food is a temptation hehe..like me  i love to eat so diet for me is no good..lol..

thats good ms Lady virus, ms Cath...
me, i just do on eliptical cardio machine for 1 hour with 700 to 800cal reduce each time i do it, then a couple of set of sit-up(4x20), and pulling weight(80lbs) and my schedule going to the gym is monday, tuesday, thursday, saturday and sunday. mahilig rin ako kumain kaya it seems na nami-maintain lang. but maybe its because i'm getting old... hehehe

here is my opinion sa topic.

for best diet, less rice. puro ulam.
steamed fish and chopsuey is sooo good if you really wanna lose that extra pounds.

for best workout, i do run every week for atleast 20 mins then i walk for the next 40 mins. i do some stretching, sit-ups and push-ups after. this routine works best for me atleast twice a week. may mga invites din ako na maglaro ng basketball so i get to play ball and sweat more.

i suggest that you do things for fun and not because you are pressured to do so.

enjoy eating and have fun working out

"Best diet and workout routine?"

It depends sa goal mo, if you want to lose weight, You have to know your daily calorie intake first. Then by the time na alam mo na, lower it by 300-500 calories. You have to change your diet though, avoid fast foods, soda and junk foods. switch to a balanced meal with protein and right amount of carbs like for example for protein go for chicken breast, lean beef, fish or peanuts.. For carbs naman, switch to brown rice kung nag kakanin ka, potatoes, yam, kamote and oatmeal. 4-5 meals a day, small to medium amount of meal lang, wag parang fiesta kung kumain. Why? You have to have your metabolism active most of the time. Kung 3x a day lang ang meal mo may possibility na mag shut down ang metabolism mo lalo na kung mahaba ang meal interval mo. Then go workout 3-4 times a week with a 30-40 mins of high intensity cardio then weights/strength training.
(This is my method I lost 8 lbs of body fat in just 2 weeks.)

Kung payat ka at type mo magpalaki ng muscles, try to add some calories in your diet with a good food, not from fatty foods. Then straight to weights/strength workout. Do a 20 reps on 2 sets every exercise you want to do, kung baguhan ka, start with the lightest weight muna then work your way towards to heavier weights. More reps at lighter weights that you can do are more effective than lifting a heavier one that you can't finish a set. It may lead to injuries as well.

Don't do a full body work out in one session. (baka maging lantang gulay ka) meaning to say, you will suffer a painful muscle soreness or DOMS after a intense work out. Yung feeling na sobrang sakit ng katawan mo after a day na nag work out ka.

Try to plan a work out every week and focus to one muscle category every session. Like for example:
Day 1: Chest and Biceps
Day 2: Leg and Lower Body
Day 3: Rest
Day 4: Back Muscle, Triceps, Shoulder
Day 5: Rest
Day 6: Abs w/ 40 mins Cardio
Day 7: Rest

Hindi nagagawa sa isang araw ang dream body na hinahanap natin. It will take a lot of persistence, patience, motivation and hard work. Wag lang aayaw. :D

Salamat sa mga advice. Currently im running everyday tas sa hapon I go to the gym. It really takes time to mold the body, dati kasi puro add lang sa weight ginagawa ko hindi ako masyado conscious sa katawan ko. Kaya ngayon medyo mahirap magpaliit. :(

Ngayon my diet is no rice pinalitan ko ng patatas. Siguro per meal ko ay isang patatas na same size ng regular na itlog. Pero gusto ko subukan ibang alternative for carb.

Potatoes are good source for carbs, or try to consider sweet potatoes/kamote as well.

Running, sapatos and kalsada lang ang kailangan mo wala ka pa kakabisadohing mga moves, sa diet iwas ka sa lahat ng matamis, morning snack and midnight snack.

It's all about the mindset.

The best diet is whatever would work and would be sustainable to your lifestyle.

The best workout is whatever keeps you working out so whenever you choose a gym, try choosing one that's very convenient for you. Otherwise, you're just gonna find excuse not to go.

depends really on what is your target. for me i bike around for at least  an hour averaging 20 kph.. total calories lost is at around 200 calories... lower body, upper arms, torso and cardio all in one...
