Mount Samat National Shrine or Dambana ng Kagitingan (Shrine of Valour) is a historical shrine located near the summit of Mount Samat in the town of Pilár, Province of Bataan, in the Republic of the Philippines. The memorial shrine complex was built to honor and remember the gallantry of Filipino and American soldiers who fought during World War II.
Consisting of a Colonnade and the large Memorial Cross, the park was commissioned in 1966 by then-President Ferdinand Marcos, himself a War Veteran, for the 25th Anniversary of WW2.[1] The white Memorial Cross stands as a remembrance to the soldiers who fought and lost their lives in the Battle of Bataan. The shrine complex also includes a war museum with a wide array of collections from paintings of the Philippine heroes, to armaments used by the Filipino, American and Japanese forces during the battle.
From the colonnade and the cross, there is a panoramic view of Bataan, Corregidor Island and on a clear day, the city of Manila situated about 50 km (31 mi) across Manila Bay.

Oo ms Rai magandang puntahan ito, especially kung aakyat ka sa loob ng malaking krus....you can almost see the entire bataan province if walang ulap.... maganda ring maghike dito para mas may adventure.....if you dont want to walk, i suggest bring a vehicle or don't come there during weekends.... i already voted you on the PT idol....thanks sa pagbisita dito

Nakapunta na ako diyan pero di ako nakaakyat sa krus, haba pila sa elevator eh tapos magsasara na din kasi hapon na, pero nagandahan pa din ako sa view, hehe.
Try niyo din akyatin yung mga katabing bundok niyan like mt. Tarak and mt. Natib, naakyat ko na din, sobrang ganda pag natyempuhan mo sea of clouds sa mt. tarak, falls naman yung pang akit ng mt. natib.

i enjoy hiking also.... kaya kapag pupunta ako diyan madalas hiking talaga to appreciate the view more....may trail naman doon para sa mga hiker

so sir mountaineer ka rin? naakyat ko rin yung mt. natib, 360 views din siya kapag nasa taas ka kaya lang napakaraming limatik kahit sa falls marami sila.... yung mt. tarak hindi ko pa naakyat yun, sayang hindi na kasi ako nakaka-akyat ng bundok ngayon simula ng mag-work ako outside the country....someday i hope

Yup sir, dami nga limatik diyan sa mt. Natib pero sanay na ako gawa ng madalas ako sa makiling. Minsan pag trip ka ng mga sundalo di ka papaakyatin kaya dapat may paln B ka, yung mt. tarak. Mag post ako sa tamaraw falls sir.

tama po, mawawala yung pagod mo at iba na ang feelings pag nakarating ka na sa summit.

Nakapunta na din ako dyan twice na. During our trips to mariveles bataan dumaan kami dyan. Napakaganda naman talaga ng view. And kapag nasa taas ka nung cross minsan dumadaan na ang ulap. Nice photo TS, ikaw nag shoot nyan?

Sir elemer, sakay ka bus pa Balanga, then pababa ka sa Pilar intersection, puwede ka na dun sumakay ng tricycle, naghahatid din sila hanggang taas pero mas maganda try niyo maglakad nalang para mas maganda experience. Sana nakatulong, Bulalo!!!

been to Mt. Samat many times. hiking at may sasakyan. try n'yo din 'yung zipline at firing range. Tapos punta din kayo sa Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar sa Bagac.
