While driving, I heard on the news that Italy's ex PM Berlusconi was found guilty of a crime (having six with a minor) and was sentenced to 7 years and ban forever from running in public office.
Then naisip ko how could the Philippines allow the likes of Imelda, Erap, Lacson, to run for office inspite of legal cases laid against them?

I'm not a legal expert, but as far as I know it is possible for even convicted criminals to hold public office. There is no such thing as felony disenfranchisement in this country - if you have enough money.

Yep I don't think so. I remember si Jalosjos nga naka kulong pero Ilang beses pa yata nanalo.

The news you've is convicted.......... lahat ng binanggit mong pulitiko ay under trial kaya giving the benefit of the doubt di sila pwedeng bawalan na tumakbo for public office.......... pero syempre ang totoo pera pa din ang pinapagana para di maconvict............ hehehe

That's correct, pero I cited si Jalosjos. Wasn't he convicted already? He was recently released though if tama ang pagka alala ko. Kindly correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyone care to clarify about him?
