Title: Modelling Industry
Post by: HashtagMac on June 11, 2013, 06:26:03 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this topic, palipat nalang mods kung mali. :)

Has anyone noticed that the Modelling Industry is becoming a cliche lately? I'm talking about the freelance models. Parang ang daming nagsusulputan na models lately, meron din mga feeling model.
I've seen some people, some I personally know bigla nalang nagiging "into" modelling.  Nagkaruon lang ng photoshoot with some anonymous photographer automatic change agad sila ng work tab sa Facebook into "Freelance Modelling."
I don't know why but parang pumapangit na tuloy ang tingin ko sa modelling industry. Literally, almost "everyone" can be a model nowadays. You only need three things: A camera, make-up & an internet connection."

I can't help it but to see them as Social Climbers. I know some persons kasi na nagkaruon lang ng photoshoot feel na feel na niyang model siya. Maya't maya mag sstatus sa Facebook ng: "Off to shoot later!" okaya, "Just came home from my photoshoot." Ung mga tipong ganyan ba, ung halatang feeling cool at nagpapa pansin lang.

I think nawawala na ung true essence and meaning of "Modelling".
Like I said, nowadays almost everyone can be a model.

Does anyone here share the same sentiment with me?

I don't know about that, but I had an ex who was a model (uhh the real kind?) she was an amazing cook! Haha.. And actually pretty smart. (cliche opposite)

Never asked her about her trade though, and this was years ago.

Can't relate too much man. Wala ako facebook, per come to think of it, with the advent of cheaper photography equipment (Digital) and social media maaring you're onto something.

The ones you mentioned, do they get paid?

Some I personally know, pays the photographer to conduct a photo shoot.

I'm not bashing the "real" models who gets payed for their shoot, my aim here is that there are some people who are as they say "into" modelling dahil yun ang trending nowadays.
They somehow only put dirt in the real essence and name of modelling, especially real full time models. Nasisira lang ung word na "model" kumbaga.
