Guyabano "The Natural Cancer Cell Killer"

Fights Cancer Cells, Lowers Blood Pressure, Lowers Blood Sugar level,
Increases Immune System & more!

The Guyabano tree, its fruit, leaves, bark is a natural cancer cell killer.

A scientific research in 1976 shows that one chemical is 10,000 times more potent then the chemotherapeutic drug Adriamycin.

Protect your immune system and avoid deadly infections. Feel stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment. Boost your energy and improve your outlook on life

The source of this information is just as stunning. With many laboratory tests conducted since the 1970’s, those tests revealed was nothing short of mind numbing.

Extracts from the tree were shown to: Effectively target and kill malignant cells in 12 types of cancer, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer.

What’s more, unlike chemotherapy, laboratory tests shows that the compound extracted from the Guyabano tree selectively hunts down and kills only cancer cells. It does not harm healthy cells! Various parts of the tree–including the bark, leaves, roots, fruit and fruit-seeds–have been used for centuries by medicine men and native Indians in South America to treat heart disease, asthma, liver problems and arthritis.

The National Cancer Institute performed the first scientific research in 1976. The results showed that Guyabano’s “leaves and stems were found effective in attacking and destroying malignant cells.

Since 1976, laboratory tests has proven that Guyabano to be an immensely potent cancer killer in 20 independent laboratory tests.

A study published in the Journal of Natural Products, stated that one chemical in Guyabano (Annona Muricata) was found to selectively kill colon cancer cells at “10,000 times the potency of (the commonly used chemotherapy drug) Adriamycin.

The most significant part of the report is that Guyabano (Annona Muricata) was shown to selectively target the cancer cells, leaving healthy cells untouched. Unlike chemotherapy, which indiscriminately targets all actively reproducing cells (such as stomach and hair cells), causing the often devastating side effects of nausea and hair loss in cancer patients.

A study at Purdue University recently found that leaves from the Guyabano tree killed cancer cells among six human cell lines and were especially effective against prostate, pancreatic and lung cancers.

A. That the guyabano has anti-cancer properties is one gross misinformation that has been circulating in the Internet for years now. More than two years ago, I was sent an email by a cancer-survivor friend of mine who attributes her survival from breast cancer to her regular intake of guyabano juice. About eight years earlier, she was diagnosed with stage I cancer of the breast for which she underwent surgery and chemotherapy. She started drinking guyabano juice after her chemotherapy and has since credited the fruit, rather than her doctors, for her apparent cure.
When I received her email, out of curiosity, I did a library and Internet search for guyabano. I was amazed with what I found out and wrote an article, which was later published in this column, about the alleged "miraculous properties" of guyabano. Nothing much has changed regarding this issue since, so most of what I am going to write herewith I have told readers before.
Guyabano is the Filipino term for the graviola tree (Annona reticulate). Its delectable fruitis also locally referred to as guyabano but is known as custard apple or sour sop in English.
Folklore attributes some medicinal properties to guyabano. Supposedly, its unripe fruit can relieve diarrhea, its leaves can eliminate worms when taken internally and heal wounds when applied topically, and a concoction of its roots can reduce fever.
Traditional medicine does not ascribe anti-cancer properties to guyabano but there are numerous web sites that promote graviola as an anti-cancer remedy. Of course, most of these web sites also promote the graviola supplements made from roots, stems and fruits of the tree that they sell. There are web sites that claim that guyabano is 10,000 times stronger than the Adriamycin, a drug which is used in the chemotherapy for breast and other forms of cancer. But, the numerous evidence that these websites present to support their claim are mostly anecdotal and pseudoscientific in nature. Simply put, there is no scientific evidence that proves that guyabano has anti-cancer properties.
The idea that graviola is an effective cancer fighter evidently stems from research (published in 2008) conducted at the Purdue University's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences on the unique substances known as annonaceousacetogenins that have been extracted from the graviola tree. The Purdue investigators found these substances to be potent inhibitors of cancer cells while leaving normal cells alone. They also found the compounds to be effective against drug-resistant cancer cells.
But these studies were conducted in vitro, i.e., conducted on cancer cells in test tubes. These are a long way from clinical trials that determine the efficacy and safety of these compounds in people with cancer. In fact, I have not found any human study on graviola and cancer.
As to the suggestion, by some of the websites, that scientific evidence in favor of graviola is being suppressed by drug corporations, I find this inconceivable. I'm more inclined to believe that this conspiracy theory has been concocted by those who sell graviola supplements. In fact, if these business entities that manufacture and sell supplements want to, they can easily undertake scientifically acceptable research on guyabano and publish their findings. But they don't. Instead, they label their products as having "no therapeutic claims" while at the same time they try to make the public believe that they are actually effective and even better than proprietary medicines.

Guyabano Really Cures Cancer? Here are Some Evidence
Posted on September 13, 2010 by marvin
I heard these three stories of cancer cure miracle from Jessica Soho of GMA-7. I want to share it with you guys.

Neng Tiwana, a radio announcer, suffered from mayoma (bukol sa matris). Doctor advised her to undergo surgical operation but she declined because she was afraid of the operation cost. She took herbal especially the guyabano as treatment. Her bleeding and fever stop and cured eventually.

Mang Ernesto, Baranggay Captain of Tala, Urani, Bataan suffered from stage four cancer of the larynx. The doctor said he should undergo surgical operation but it’s not a guarantee to extend his one year life expectancy. He denied the operation and seek advice from albularyo. Result, he felt relieved after eating guyabano fruit and drinking leaf decoction for two months. No cancer detected on his larynx after laboratory testing.

Dr. Jose Hernandez, General Physician, diagnosed with prostate cancer, undergone surgical operation but his illness got worse. Then he followed the advice of his friend to take guyabano. He has been drinking guyabano shake three glasses a day. The result was very amazing, he fully recovered from terminal stage of prostate cancer.

Despite of these proofs, many doctors don’t believe and never recommend the miracle fruit. They are just coincidence and the medical treatment was responsible for the claimed cure instead.

Philippine society of medical oncologist and many doctors stated that modern medicine should be backed-up by strong scientific evidence. guyabano or graviolla don’t have such.

I bet they won’t do study about it and they will never certify it as natural cancer cure.

The following addition is courtesy of our good friend William. See his full testimony in comment section. Thanks to him!

For those who are suffering from gonorrhea and herpes, guyabano is the God’s answer for you. Here are the things you need to do:

1) Eat the fruit pulp except the seeds.

2) Pound the peels to attain very fine texture, blender will do it easier. Place it on XL size diaper. Wear the diaper and sit. Do a circling hip motion until the mashed peels reach your six organ and anus. Do the trick for 15 to 30 minutes and repeat three to five times.

Believe me, the tricks are very effective. Hope it helps.

"Guyabano" : “A MIRACULOUS natural cancer cell killer, 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.”

The compound extracted from the graviola tree selectively hunts down and kills only cancer cells

“It does not harm healthy cells!”

It “effectively targets and kills malignant cells in 12 types of cancer, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer.” A research has been conducted and showed that the extracts from guyabano can “attack cancer safely and effectively with an all-natural therapy that does not cause extreme nausea, weight loss and hair loss.”

It also “protects your immune system and avoids deadly infections; feels stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment; and boosts your energy and improves your outlook on life.”

The first scientific research on graviola was in 1976.

The results showed that the plant’s “leaves and stems were found effective in attacking and destroying malignant cells.”

The creamy and delectable flesh contains from 60 to 100 black-brown seeds that are indigestible and non-edible.

The flesh of the guyabano consist of a white edible pulp that is high in carbohydrates (particularly fructose) and considerable amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, potassium and dietary fiber.

It is low in cholesterol, saturated fat and sodium. it taste delicious.

In Indonesia, unripe fruits are cooked as vegetables or used in soup in Indonesia.

In the northeastern part of Brazil, they are either roasted or fried.

The fruit, seeds, and leaves have a number of herbal medicinal uses in countries where the plant is common.

The sap of the young leaves may be applied directly on pimples to induce suppuration.

The sap is also considered parasitical.

The leaves and roots also cure colic and convulsions.

To reduce fever, leaves can be taken internally.

It has the same effect as when leaves are added to bathing water.

The crushed fresh leaves are also applied on skin eruptions for faster healing.

A poultice of young leaves is applied on the skin to alleviate rheumatism and other skin infections like eczema.

Applied during the healing of wounds, this can result in less or no skin scars.

The decoction can also be used as a wet compress on swollen feet and other inflammations.

Poultice of mashed leaves and sap of young leaves are used for eczema and skin eruptions.

The leaves are believed to have tranquilizing and sedative properties.

Boiling the leaves and drinking may help induce sleep.

A balikbayan patient asked me recently about the anticancer effects of custard apple or sour sop. I was embarrassed to admit I didn’t quite know what the fruit was, but promised her I would request my research staff to search the scientific literatures about it.
I gave the assignment to my senior researcher and editor Gigi de Leon, and she came back to me a few hours later educating me on what the custard apple or sour sop is. It is our good old guyabano, which I fondly remember I loved eating when I was a child. During summer when we vacationed in our hometown, we would climb our neighbor’s wooden fence and help ourselves to the several guyabano trees they have in their backyard. I can still taste the luscious, sweet  pulp of our neighbor’s guyabano.
Many years later when that neighbor came to see me in the clinic, I would joke that I can’t charge him for professional fees because I have to pay back for all the guyabano fruits my friends and I have stolen from their backyard when we were children.
Marketed as a cure-all
It came as a pleasant surprise to hear that the fruit has some anticancer potential. But that’s how it stands for now. There is some suggestion that it might have the property to inhibit the growth of some cancer cells, but this has only been shown in the laboratory—or at most, in experimental animals—but never in humans. It’s a long way from being declared an anticancer fruit with truly clinically meaningful effects.
I hear that it’s now being unscrupulously  marketed by several networking companies as a cure-all. The fruit, together with its leaves, stem, roots, seeds and bark, is concocted into expensive juices and capsules, and is marketed to cure asthma, arthritis, heart and liver diseases. It also reportedly lowers blood pressure, strengthens the immune system, improves energy levels, heals wounds, eliminates worms, relieves diarrhea and fever, treats gonorrhea and herpes. But its biggest draw is that it is supposed to be “a miraculous natural cancer cell killer 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.”
When you have strong and obviously exaggerated claims like this, you tend to doubt and we should ask for published scientific evidence.
One literature Gigi came across with even claims guyabano extracts are 10,000 times stronger than adriamycin, a drug used in chemotherapy treatments. No published clinical trials on human is available. Some websites just provide testimonials from individuals relating anecdotes about their cancer sickness, how they opted not to follow their doctor’s recommendation to undergo surgery or chemotherapy and just take guyabano products.
They believe that the fruit cured them from their cancer, which was already late-stage or Stage 4 in some cases. Whether they really had cancer or not, we’re not sure, because no documentation of their cancer is presented.
In fairness to the ones marketing these medicinal guyabano extracts, there’s a modicum of basis for their claims, but what is unacceptable is their exaggeration of the fruit’s health benefits as if it’s already tried and tested.
Researches
According to the scientific literatures gathered by Gigi, researches have been undertaken to uncover guyabano’s anticancer effects, starting in 1976 when the National Cancer Institute in the United States conducted the first study on the fruit’s supposed cancer fighting properties.
This was followed by 20 more laboratory tests conducted in various laboratories worldwide. They all came out with unanimous results: Guyabano tree extracts, indeed, proved to be effective against the growth of malignant cells in 12 cancer types. These include some of the deadliest cancer forms which have taken the lives of many around the globe: pancreatic, colon, lung, prostate and breast cancers.
According to the Catholic University of South Korea and Purdue University in Indiana, United States, guyabano tree extracts acted in a way that prevented it from harming normal cells, while successfully targeting the dangerous ones, unlike chemotherapy, which destroys all cells that multiply. The findings of the Catholic University of South Korea were published in the Journal of Natural Products.
But, it has to be emphasized that all of these trials were conducted in the laboratory only using nonliving models, or what is called as in vitro experiments. Absolutely, no research in humans, so far.
So, my advice is—rather than buying all these expensive commercialized extracts, juices and capsules of guyabano, I think it’s a lot more enjoyable and economical to just buy the fruit, and savor its delicious, citrusy white flesh. Personally, I would do that. Just like in my childhood.

The Guyabano Tree

The Guyabano tree (latin name: Annona muricata) is a low-branching and bushy but slender tree, which can reach a height of 7.5-9 m. The large evergreen leaves are smooth and glossy and have a dark green upper surface. The fruits are usually oval or heart-shaped and 10-30 cm long and up to 15 cm in width. The skin of the fruit is leathery and covered with curved, soft, pliable spines. When the tips of these spines can break off easily, then the fruit is ripe enough to eat. The inside of the fruit is cream-colored and is divided into segments. Closely-packed segments are seedless and other segments have a single oval, smooth, hard black seed. One piece of large fruit can contain a dozen to 200 seeds or even more.
It tastes slightly acidic and it is used as food in different ways. For example you can spoon the flesh out or make sherbets and drinks out of it. From the leaves you can make tea.

The Guyabano tree is a tropical tree found in the warmest tropical areas in North and South America, in the Amazon and in Asia.

Natural medicine
The bark, leaves, fruit, roots, and fruit seeds of the Guyabano tree know a long history of many medicinal uses.

-        The fruit and juice is used against worms and parasites, to cool down fevers, to increase mother’s milk after childbirth. It can also be used for diarrhea or inflammation in the bowels as a drying agent.
-         The seeds can be crushed and then used against internal or external parasites, head lice, and worms.
-        The leaves are used as a sedative and a soporific (inducer of sleep) in the West Indies and Peruvian Andes when drank as a tea. This infusion is also used to relief pain or for antispasmodic purposes. For liver problems a leaf tea is used in the Brazilian Amazon.
-         The roots and bark can be of aid for diabetes, but can also be used as a sedative.

As you can see there are many uses of the Guyabano tree. These are just a few ways how the Guyabano tree can be of aid in your health. Next to all of these uses, it now also seems to help against cancer. Research has found many biologically active compounds in the Guyabano tree, and one of these compounds is able to destroy cancer cells.

The cure for cancer lies in a tree
The Guyabano tree consists of many chemicals, but what makes the Guyabano tree special is that this tree contains a natural compound named ‘acetogenins’. Research has found that this compound can slow the growth of tumor cells and be toxic to tumor cells without harming healthy cells. Especially the latter is a problem of recent anticancer drugs. Chemotherapy kills growing cells, bad (the cancer cells) and good (the healthy cells). The best cure for cancer is a product that can target only the cancer cells. And this is just exactly what the natural compound found in the Guyabano tree does.

The tree produces these ‘acetogenins’ in the leaves, stem and bark. What you can do is drink the extracts of the tree and this will help you fight against cancer.

Chemical compound
What everyone would like is to make these acetogenins in big quantities, to help everyone. However, the natural ‘acetogenins’ are very complex in structure and is not easily to make by chemists. To make it easier to produce large amounts of this medicine, research has been done to find the active parts of the compound against cancer. If the active parts can be found, the medicine would be easier to produce and be more available to everyone. Unfortunately, scientists have not been able to find the active parts of the Guyabano tree.

Until then, you can turn to the natural acetogenins and drink the tea, juice or use the supplements.

How does it work?

Oberlies et al (1995) researched the capability of acetogenins to block, or inhibit, the cell growth of tumor cells. They tested this on several cell types in vitro; cancerous cells from mice and humans as well as non-cancerous cells from the intestinal tract of rats. Results showed that the more acetogenins was added with the cancerous cells, the more the cell growth was blocked. In addition, the non-cancerous healthy cells were not affected by the acetogenins and the cell growth was not blocked. These findings can indicate that acetogenins can selectively block the cell growth of tumor cells, while the healthy cells remain unaffected with minimal toxicity by this compound.

In breast cancer the cancer gene ‘epidermal growth factor receptor’ (EGFR) is frequently overexpressed.  Therefore, this cancer gene is a possible target for breast cancer therapy. A study by Dai et al (2011) used a Guyabano fruit extract and the extract inhibited or blocked the expression of the EGFR gene and this resulted in an inhibition of 32% of the growth of breast cancer cells. The non-cancerous breast cells were not affected by the fruit extract.

In 1997 Oberlies et al researched the ability of the acetogenins to block the cell growth of specific tumor cells, adriamycin resistant human mammary adenocarcinoma cells. These breast tumor cells are resistant to treatment with adriamycin, vincristine and vinblastine. All three are anti-tumor drugs. Because these tumor cells can not be treated with the drugs, the tumor is called multidrug resistant (MDR). The research group used various acetogenins derived from the Guyabano. The ones with a specific structure (a stereochemistry of threo-trans-threo-trans-erythro) were the most potent acetogenin and had 250 times the potency of adriamycin. This indicates that acetogenins may have a chemotherapeutical potential, also against MDR tumors.

Not only a "cancer cell killer"
Besides being helpful to fight against cancer, Guyabano can also help with other conditions and diseases.

Diabetes mellitus

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder where the patient remains to have high blood sugar levels because the body is not able to produce insulin (type 1 diabetes), or the (pancreatic) cells in the body does not react to the produced insulin (type 2 diabetes).  Adeyemi et al (2010) studied the effects of the extracts of Guyabano on diabetes mellitus. Thirty rats were divided in three groups; a control group, a group of rats with induced diabetes and a group of rats with induced diabetes and treatment of Guyabano extracts. After the treatment the pancreatic cells were examined and the group treated with Guyabano resulted in more pancreatic cells compared to the untreated group. These results suggest that Guyabano may help in the regeneration of pancreatic cells, and therefore in the treatment against diabetes.

The same research group of Adeyemi et al (2008) also did a study where they examined the effects of Guyabano extracts on the blood sugar levels of induces diabetic rats. Results showed that the rats with induced diabetes had an average blood sugar level of 21.64 mmol. The rats with induced diabetes and which were treated with Guyabano extracts showed an average blood sugar level of 4.22 mmol. This is a decrease in elevated blood sugar levels of five times. The Guyabano extracts shows in this study again that it can be useful for patients with diabetes.

A different research group, Adewole et al (2008), treated induced diabetic rats with Guyabano extracts and examined the tissues involved with diabetes. Results show, as well as the research group mentioned above, that Guyabano extracts led to a decrease in elevated blood sugar. Additionally, they found that Guyabano may also have protective and beneficial effects on the tissues involved with diabetes.

Pain and inflammation
In animal models the effects of Guyabano extracts were investigated regarding to pain and inflammation. After giving oral doses of Guyabano extracts to mice, Vieira de Sousa et al (2010) recorded the reaction time of the mice on a hot plate. The mice which received the Guyabano extracts showed an increase in reaction time compared to the control mice. This means that it took longer for the Guyabano treated mice to feel the hot plate, and that the Guyabano can help reduce pain or reduce sensitivity to painful stimuli.

Additionally, the same research group treated mice with swollen paws with Guyabano extracts. When paws are swollen, there is an excess of fluid in the paws and there is indication that there is inflammation in the paws. At a site of inflammation, immune cells (leukocytes) migrate or move to this site. This treatment resulted in a smaller volume of paws and a reduction of immune cell migration. From this there can be concluded that Guyabano extracts can also have anti-inflammatory properties.

 Antibacterial effect
Vieira et al (2010) investigated the antibacterial effects of Guyabano extracts on bacteria. They found that Guyabano extracts worked against the following bacteria: Staphylococcus Aureus and Vibrio Cholerae. S. Aureus is a bacterium which can lie on the skin and cause skin infections (such as pimples), or more life threatening diseases like pneumonia. Cholerea is a bacterium which causes cholera. The symptoms of cholera are diarrhea and vomiting.

Guyabano and blood pressure
Animal studies have shown that Guyabano can have hypotensive activities, which means that it can result in an abnormal low blood pressure. Guyabano can also be used as a vasodilator (widening of the blood vessels, resulting in a lower blood pressure). Caution should therefore be taken when using Guyabano, especially when you have a low blood pressure, or if you take antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure lowering drugs).

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a major risk factor when it comes to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Guyabano may be helpful to reduce the blood pressure. In the West-Indies a research group investigated this on rats. All rats had a normal blood pressure and Guyabano was administered to the animals. Chukwuemeka et al. found that the blood pressure in these rats reduced significantly in a dose-dependent way.1

This may indicate that Guyabano can also reduce the blood pressure in humans. However, this has not been researched yet. All research at this moment on Guyabano is done on cell lines (in vitro) or on animals.

Guyabano may be useful to treat a high blood pressure, but take caution when you have a normal blood pressure. A blood pressure which is too low (hypotension) is not healthy and can even be dangerous.

We colud atest to this.. Tito had been diagnosed of 3rd stage colon cancer, he had his chemo but did finish his sessions kasi mas papatayin daw sya ng chemo. Then he opted to GRAVIOLA CAPSULES. After 3 months of taking, the results of his imaging studies shows no traces of masses. He's still alive and kicking now.
