Antibiotics are powerful medicines that should be reserved for situations that demand them, for instance, when the immune system cannot contain a bacterial infection or when a bacterial infection establishes itself in a vital organ like the heart, lungs, or brain.

Antibiotics not only kill harmful bacteria that are making you sick, they also destroy the beneficial flora in your gut, and can promote the development of resistant organisms in your body. There's even evidence that without normal "friendly" bacteria in the digestive tract, our immune system wouldn't function properly, and we would be less resistant to harmful bugs.

To restore the helpful organisms, be sure to take supplemental probiotics while you're on antibiotics. Acidophilus is the general name for dried or liquid cultures of the living lactobacillus bacteria that aid digestion. Always check the expiration date to help ensure that the acidophilus product you choose is still viable. Take one tablespoon of the liquid culture or one to two capsules after meals, unless the label directs otherwise. I recommend taking acidophilus to restore "friendly" cultures even when on antibiotics for just a few days. And I particularly recommend products containing lactobacillus GG or bacillus coagulans 30 (BC-30), two strains proven to survive passage through the strong acid in the stomach.

so dapat hindi maging antibiotic dependent. dahil pag nakasakit kayo ng malala, mahihirapan na magamot kung mataas na agad ang intake nyo ng antibiotic. hindi na malalabanan ang sakit dahil immune na

Not really, what if an infant child has been infected with mrsa, would you wait with in 3 days?

@topic
Partially true, but its not always the case. It is true na di tayo dapat maging dependent sa antibiotics but who are we to assess whether we are overdoing it or not? The best na dapat gawin ay pumunta at magpacheck-up sa doctor at let your doctor assess your case, kung advice sayo na mag antibiotic eh mag antibiotic ka kung hindi di wag. Tandaan natin always seek professional advice when it comes to illness.

Ang pinaka magandang advice dyan ay laging magkonsulta muna sa doktor bago uminom ng antibiotics. Sila ang mga nakakaalam kung gaano kadami at katagal kang iinom ng mga antibiotics

Yes sir it depend we have common sense naman lalo na pag infant having a fever parents always concern pag high fever ofcourse we dont know what kind of infection the infant has till you see the dr.and run some test ..but most of the case parents will not see the dr.right den when their infant having a fever such as it might an colds allergies only or they will call their dr.what they can do usually dr.will say keep eye on your child's fever give more fluids if will continue or for atleast 3 days you have to see a dr..coz it might a serious infection like what you said a mrsa..

So I think, we should refrain from making an all encompassing statement.

Yes,as we can see and read some of the responses in every thread on this board or any board are based on their experiences,others will share their ideas think that it need to be share and for me there is nothing wrong with that,people will give advices but it doesnt mean you will do it and apply it even you dont want to do it or think that its not right and accurate.We have our own precautions..
