Hmm.. pede rin. Chelsea is chelsea. The defending champion. Kaso mejo mahina pa sila ngayon. Nun last year talaga nag focus sila more on defense lalo na yun against bayern. Si drogba pa nagpanalo na ngayon wala na hehe.

Ang swerte nun quarterfinal yun dormund. 2 goals in injury time.. so lucky.

Xavi + Iniesta, kung eto nasa mid field pede na rin kung sa david villa as striker. Well see kung makakalagpas sila sa semis. Iba rin kasi ang football ng barca kaya hindi malayo makalagpas sila sa semis.

Ah okay. If its what you think. Kasi ang pagkakaalam ko pag underdog, recognized ka as mahinang team. Almost equal footing kasi yun nasa semis. Siguro may slight advantage ang iba na nasa semis pero hindi ganun kalaki ang gap. Anyway its a good thing na may nanood nito hehe. Cant wait for the semis!!!.

i was referring them as underdog dahil mas advantage sa experience yung 3 clubs kesa sa kanila at this stage of the game sa cl pero dont get me wrong dortmund is a very strong side and the only team na unbeaten sa cl. also, dortmund aren't defending champions anymore since bayern already won the league last sat hehe

but not to me sir. its like seeing the whole spanish team pitting against each other. LoL
beside that, i want madrid to win against barca sa champions kasi ang laki ng agwat ng points nila sa la liga at mukhang makukuha ng barca ang title.

pero your choice of match up is a real game to watch too. kailangan makabawi ng madrid sa bayern after their semis lost last year.

a sad fate for barca in leg 1

Bayern turn on the style to blow Barcelona away
Published: Tuesday 23 April 2013, 22.50CET
FC Bayern München 4-0 FC Barcelona
Thomas Müller scored twice as Bayern recorded the biggest victory in a semi-final game and closed in on a third final in four years.

FC Bayern München made giant strides towards a third UEFA Champions League final in four seasons with a memorable semi-final first-leg triumph against FC Barcelona.

The Bundesliga champions' record-breaking campaign reached fresh heights as Thomas Müller started and finished the scoring on a famous night in Munich. Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben added further goals to secure a landmark victory which inflicted a heaviest European away defeat on Barcelona and left the four-time trophy winners with a mountain to climb in next Wednesday's Camp Nou return.

After stepping out to a magnificently choreographed red-and-white display which spanned the entire arena, Bayern harnessed the home support and began powerfully, driving forward and creating the game's first opportunity just two minutes in. Javi Martínez's back-heel gave Robben time to set himself in the box only for the Dutchman to poke straight at Víctor Valdés.

Once the early advances subsided, Barcelona started to dominate possession and their incessant pressing forced Bayern to move the ball quickly out of defence. Though used to controlling matches, playing on the counterattack nevertheless seemed to suit the hosts, who looked dangerous on either flank and broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Dante nodded Robben's cross back for Müller to head past Valdés at the near post.

Barça came close to equalising when Pedro Rodríguez's low cross was taken off the toes of the returning Lionel Messi in the centre by Dante, but otherwise Bayern continued to enjoy the upper hand, winning the duels in the middle and raiding with purpose.

The visitors regained their composure towards the interval, but were undone once more four minutes after it, as Bayern doubled their tally. Müller was again involved, heading Robben's corner into the danger zone for Gomez, deputising for the suspended Mario Mandžukić, to tap in. It was the perfect tonic for any home fans fearful of a Barcelona revival and inspired a flurry of further chances.

First Müller dragged past the post after a diagonal run. Franck Ribéry was then unable to apply the finish after being fed by Robben, who next rose above Alexis Sánchez to glance Bastian Schweinsteiger's free-kick wide.

The ball remained Blaugrana property for the most part, yet for all the intricate passing of Messi, Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta, Bayern always had a body in the way. Marc Bartra might have pulled one back from close range, but Neuer made the save and the Bavarians' back line would not be threatened again.

Instead, Barcelona were caught out twice more before the end. Robben notched Bayern's third after a swift counterattack, drifting in from the right and slotting into the far corner, before Müller tapped in the fourth with eight minutes remaining. It signalled Barça's biggest defeat since May 2007 and reversed Bayern's 4-0 quarter-final loss at Camp Nou in 2009 – and, most crucially, took the German champions to the brink of a second successive final.

i agree sir. but Santiago Bernabéu is not a friendly place for visiting teams, it happened before and many of the madridista are hoping for another miracle. like what Real manager mentioned, they will give everything against Dortmund. being members of german national team, i hope Khedira and Ozil will step up more on their next match against their german brothers

a little history on Real big comebacks.
Real Madrid’s first big historical comeback was against Derby County in the last-16 of the 1975/76 European Cup. Madrid won the return leg in the Bernabéu 5-1, ensuring they would progress, something which looked highly unlikely after they had lost the first leg 4-1.

yeah you may right at some point. but we are talking here dormund. Dormund is one of the top tier in Germany. The score can be reversible, but it is 5% chance. From the previous years, spanish teams is one who has lowest percent rate of winning against the german side.

im madrid fan at this moment, hoping for them to turn a tide around but practically speaking. the chances is very very low.

like what i mentioned earlier, i am agreeing with the posts here. statistically, real have a slim chance and i saw this coming from the first leg having considered how dortmund fared (or faired) during the early stages against real and with the facts that you mentioned about spaniards against germans.
pero im hoping for a big time comeback for real kaya positive pa rin ang statements ko making them really bias. hehehe. ganun talaga kapag fan ka ng isang team. pagpasensiyahan mo na ang kasiyahan ko sir. ayaw ko kasi isipin pagkatalo nila.  :-[

kita nyo ba ang post interview? murinho is furious about his players not marking up lewandoski pero they just need a 3-0 victory against dortmund sa sa barca nman isang malaking himala ang kailangan nila

mourinho is more than furious malamang. isang tao ba naman makascore ng 4 na goal sa kanila. i wonder kung may nakagawa na sa kanila yun before.

If two German will compete in the finals. I'll be cheering for Bayern, ang dami pwede umiskor sa kanila plus defense nila exceptional.

though im not a big fan of bundesliga, i'll go for bayern kapag natalo ang real against dortmund.

UEFA Champions League 2013-14: Top 10 Contenders For This Year's Competition
(Article taken from: Latinos Post)

10. Arsenal

The English side got drawn into arguably the toughest group of the competition and could find trouble climbing out of a group that includes the likes of Napoli and Borussia Dortmund. After a disastrous season opener against Aston Villa, Arsene Wenger's troops seem to be back to form, pulling off four straight wins while not conceding a single goal. The addition of Mesut Özil is a huge boost for the club as it provides Arsenal with an elite attacking midfielder that can not only set up goals, but can also score them. He will also take some pressure off Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey in the midfield. Arsenal could get out of the group in second place and could be primed for a deep run with Özil leading the way.

9. Benfica

The Portuguese side drew a rather easy group that includes the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Olympiacos and Anderlecht. While none of these teams should be overlooked (especially not PSG), Benfica is a bonafide contender that is coming off a season that saw it make a deep run to the Europa League championship and the team has the experience for a deep Champions League run.

8. Paris Saint-Germain

The defending French champs are stronger this year with the addition of Edinson Cavani and could easily leave Group C as the winners. A year ago, PSG made a run to the quarterfinals where it stood up to Barcelona in a 3-3 aggregate through two matches. If not for the away goals, PSG may have been one of the four finalists in the tournament. The French squad is one to watch out for and could be a dark horse finalist this season.

7. Juventus

The Italian champs do not see themselves as contenders on the level of Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund but they should not be taken lightly. They are fortified by the acquisition of some offensive weapons this summer and could be a dangerous opponent for any of the top sides in the tournament. Of course, they have to get through a gigantic task that is Group B. Real Madrid will likely pose a titanic problem for them, but will also afford the Italian team a chance to measure where they are against the top clubs in the tournament. Galatasaray and Copenhagen will provided lesser problems, but difficulties still lie ahead for the Italians. If Juventus manages to get out of Group B, then the team could make a deep run in the tournament on confidence alone.

6. Manchester United

Manager David Moyes has yet to prove that he is the right man for the job. In just three weeks his team has gone from a dominating beast to a team unable to break a defensive trap set by Jose Mourinho's Chelsea. In the latest week of matches, United imploded against Liverpool and lost 1-0 despite dominating the second half. This United team may have some nice pieces but Moyes has not impressed. If he manages to get them going by the time February rolls around, he may have one of the top teams on his side and could make a deep run in this tournament. Robin Van Persie is a lethal scorer and Wayne Rooney will be motivated to prove he is still the top dog at the Old Trafford.

 5. Real Madrid

The top five can all arguably compete for the top spot on this list, but Madrid starts off at No. 5 by virtue of the team's current lack of identity. The addition of Gareth Bale is sure to help the team in the long run but in the short term it will cause some identity problems. Where does Bale play? What happens to Angel Di Maria and Karim Benzema? Is Benzema really a solid striker option for this club in front of Bale and Ronaldo? Can Isco keep up the magic for a full season as Los Blanco's top central midfielder? What happens in goal between Diego Lopez and Iker Casillas? These questions will eventually be answered but whether or not they all yield positive answers for Madrid is yet to be seen. This team is undoubtedly a top contender, but may not be able to stand up to other teams on this list.

4. Borussia Dortmund

One should never bet against Jürgen Klopp, but the reality is that his club will miss Mario Götze this season. Dortmund will surely make a deep run in the tournament this year, but they will have to battle in a tough group that includes the likes of Arsenal and Napoli. Then there is the question of Robert Lewandowksi. Who knows if the Polish striker leaves during the January transfer window? If this happens, then the team could be in a dire circumstance heading into the knockout rounds. It is not completely out of the realm of possibility and the issue continuing to loom could ultimately hurt the stability of the club.

3. Chelsea

Anyone who watched the UEFA Super Cup between Chelsea and Bayern Munich knows that Chelsea is for real. The English side crashed out of the tournament last year as defending champions but made a deep run to win the Europa League. This season, Jose Mourinho is back in the dugout and is looking to win his third Champions League title with a different side. He has a relatively young squad that has proven itself defensively and offensively against the best teams. The season is still young and Mourinho already has Chelsea clicking on most cylinders. How much better can they get?

2. Barcelona

They did not get their elusive center-back this summer, but it is hard to say that Barcelona did not improve during the summer transfer window. The addition of Neymar is huge for the club offensively and the return of a healthy Lionel Messi to the Champions League provides the team with an upgrade better than any other. People seem to forget that this club lost to Munich without Lionel Messi at full health; this factor alone makes last year's run a fluke of sorts. Cesc Fabregas is off to a terrific start this season and Coach Gerardo Martino seems intent on resting top players early in the year to help them acquire sufficient stamina for the more intense games up ahead. Barcelona will be semifinalists again this year and could potentially make a run at the final if the cards fall right for them.

1. Bayern Munich

The defending Champions did not lose any major stars and added the likes of Mario Götze and Thiago Alcantara. Both are young and primed to help the squad in its ambitions of a repeat. Throw in the likes of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben who are hungry to repeat last year and you have a collection of players ready to prove they are still the best. New coach Pep Guardiola has the team playing a new brand of attacking soccer; Munich is still not at its best and has already claimed the UEFA Super Cup. Just imagine: how much better they will be once May rolls around? Munich is undoubtedly the favorite to lift the Champions League trophy next summer.

i liked Man U before. and this year i like Man U again because of Angel Dimaria. he is one great player na hindi pa nagpepeak ang talent i think. sana mas gumaling pa siya this season.

yep malaki dagdag sa amin si di maria.... kaya looking foward pa rin kami makabalik next season sa champions league...

im betting that Man U will be on top 4 after the EPL season and will be back in champions league. tamang nangangapa pa talaga sila but they have full potential. i hope they beat chelsea.

hindi ba pasok sa europa league ang team mo bro?

Champions League Final game prediction
Barcelona 2 - 1 Juventus

The trio of Suarez, Neymar and Messi will be too much for the opponent.

3-0 Barcelona. I just feel MSN's just going to make this a one sided affair.
