Attack on Titan Creator Considers Changing Ending

Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama revealed in an interview with white-screen.jp that although he had an ending planned when the series began, there is a possibility that the finalized ending might be different, due to new characters and settings. He also added that he has been thinking of creating an ending where everyone died, but after gaining so many fans after the airing of the anime, he is wavering over whether he should betray his fans in such a way. He told white-screen.jp that he wants to betray his fans, he is unsure of whether he should do it.

Shinji Higuchi To Take On the Role of Director for Live Action Attack on Titan Film



The official website for Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga recently announced that storyboarder and special effects director Shinji Higuchi will be in charge of the live-action adaptation of the series which is set to begin filming in summer 2014. The plan is for the film to be release in 2015 with the new crew. The official website has also posted an image (as shown above) that was created for the film's staff to use.

Shinji Higuchi has worked on multiple projects prior to Attack on Titan such as a storyboarder for the Evangelion television series, an assistant director for Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honnêamise, the special effects director for the Gamera movies and he was also the director for the recent Nobō no Shiro film.

Apart from Shinji Higuchi, other prominent staffs include Yuusuke Watanabe (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, live-action Gantz, Gantz II: Perfect Answer,20th Century Boys, Gatchaman), film critic Tomohiro Machiyama and Hajime Isayama himself who will be working on the scripts together.

As a marketing campaign for the upcoming movie, Shinji Higuchi will be collaborating with car makers Subaru to film a commercial for their Forester SUV. The commercial’s main characters will be none other the live-action version of the Titans, who will be making their debut appearance on screen. The commercial is set to air near the end of January 2014.

Previously, announced by Kodansha that the film is expected to hit theaters in 2014, however, it was reported that in December 2012, Tetsuya Nakashima (Kamikaze Girls, Confessions, Paco and the Magical Picture Book) left his position as director thus the delay of the film’s release.
